How Effective are Low Traffic Neighbourhoods in Reducing Traffic Accidents? A City-Wide Difference-in-Differences Study in London

Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) are urban planning interventions aimed at reducing through traffic and improving road safety for pedestrians and cyclists. This study evaluates the effectiveness of LTNs in reducing traffic accidents in London using a Difference-in-Differences (DID) approach. The study analyzes annual traffic accident data from 2015 to mid 2024 and employs both a traditional DID model and an improved DID model to assess the short- and long-term effects of LTNs.

Performed a site suitability analysis in ArcGIS Pro to identify optimal locations for a new solar park in Scotland. I used Multi-Criteria Evaluation (MCE) and raster analysis to combine factors like elevation, aspect, soil type, and proximity to infrastructure. The project culminated in a favorability map that provides a data-driven recommendation for stakeholders.

High-Fidelity 3D Model Reconstruction using Air-Ground Fusion

Standard 3D models created from UAV (drone) imagery are excellent for capturing large areas quickly, but they often suffer from significant limitations at ground level. Textures on building facades can be blurry, and complex structures like covered walkways or overhangs are often distorted or incomplete. This project aimed to solve this common industry problem by developing a method to enhance model accuracy and detail.

I am passionate about translating complex data into a positive, tangible impact. My journey began with using GIS to improve urban environments, such as making city streets safer and determining the location of critical infrastructure. This passion continues in my professional life, where I enjoy developing AI tools that automate processes and empower non-technical teams.

I believe the most exciting discoveries happen when we bridge disciplines, combining geographical insights with cutting-edge AI or merging technical precision with human-centred design. Every project is an opportunity to explore new possibilities and contribute to a more data-informed and connected world. 😃
